Frank Boogaard

The Netherlands

Frank Boogaard (b. 1953, Rotterdam) is a Dutch visual artist best known for his abstract bronze sculptures. Although he initially worked with wood, he gradually developed a unique visual language of his own. Today, he models his sculptures in wax before they are cast in bronze. His work is rooted in his inner emotional world; he translates emotions into organic forms where movement and stillness meet. By playing with polished surfaces and colored patinas, he adds depth and character to his sculptures, resulting in unique pieces where form, material, and emotion converge.
