Liesbeth Hensels

The Netherlands

Liesbeth Hensels (b. 1950, Breda) is a Dutch ceramicist who lives and works in The Hague. She discovered her passion for clay and the material's vast potential in 2015. She creates hand-built ceramic objects that are equally striking as wall pieces or freestanding sculptures. Her work draws inspiration from nature, featuring organic lines, undulating forms, and earthy textures that reflect her sense of wonder for the world around her. In recent years, she has also been exploring geometric patterns and clean compositions, which create a compelling contrast to her more fluid shapes. This constant variety and the freedom to experiment provide her with ongoing inspiration for her unique creations.
