Opening of the Huis van Tichelen Gallery
Onder leiding van Carlo van Tichelen opent Huis van Tichelen 1 mei 2026 officieel de deuren in het voormalige Augustijnenklooster in Herentals. In het hart van de stad krijgt dit bijzondere erfgoed een nieuwe culturele bestemming.
Met de openingstentoonstelling ARTexpression presenteert Huis van Tichelen werk van ruim tien regionale, nationale en internationale kunstenaars.

Art is created in the master's imagination
Just as the craft of the chisel was driven out by the brush. Just like portrait painters and communicative art in the home had to compete with photography. For example, the art craft of beauty has a new brush: Artificial Intelligence, where text commands put computers to work to create images based on written imagination. Masterpieces are created by impossible questions hidden in “prompts” combined with infinite patience characterized by selection and rejection. Perception, or what an image does to people, remains the property of human existence, just like fantasy.
They all grew out of the chaos of pixels that form an image through the play of text, chance and selection. Reworked into a philosophical symbiosis of image and meaning. Narrator of the word that was shaped by images.

Huis van Tichelen wil meer zijn dan een tentoonstellingsruimte. Het is een plek waar kunst en publiek elkaar in rust kunnen ontmoeten. Waar werken niet alleen worden getoond, maar ook kunnen worden verworven. Een galerij met de uitstraling van een museum, maar met de dynamiek van een levende kunstplek.
Bezoekers zijn welkom tijdens de vaste openingsuren of op afspraak.
