Deugden van Dimpna (2025)

This series of seven portraits does not reinterpret Saint Dimpna from her historical martyrdom, but as a personification of modern moral behaviors — from closeness and self-care to vulnerability and loyalty. Each image translates an everyday act of humanity into a symbolic portrait: small in gesture, big in meaning.

The works are rooted in a deep human desire for rest, direction and connection. Dimpna always appears with the same serene face, placed in a contemporary context, surrounded by subtle symbolism and a recognisable visual style. Gold accents connect the series, as a sign of inner value, healing and light.

These portraits do not invite worship, but to reflection. They are not illustrations of good behavior, but visual anchors for those who want to reorient themselves in a world full of incentives, expectations and getting lost.
Here, Dimpna does not show himself as a saint of the past, but as a guide of today. A guide for young people, counselors, teachers and parents.
